How different might your life be if one of your wishes came true?

Most of us have received less than 2% of the possibilities that are available to us in the universe.

One of the reasons it takes so long to reach our dreams, to fulfil our wishes is because we are closed down. We have built walls and fortresses around us. We have closed our hearts and thrown away the key.

We must be open……… to draw it in.

There is a connection between the soul and the world. The energy of your soul and the energy of your world are woven together.

What you hold in your mind, in your heart, will be your experience.

Open

Allow
You do not have to prove yourself to open to receive.

And when good things do come, have you said: “This is too good to be true”, “I can’t believe this is happening”, “I feel like I am dreaming” or “I can’t believe this is real.”

STOP

Allow it in. Find a space in your soul. Open.

A Meditation to help us to open to our possibilities

Find a place to be still, a place you love to be, surrounded by beauty and quiet or beautiful tunes. Close your eyes and allow your body to soften and relax, breathe in slow down, breathe out, let go.

Invite all the beauty that you have ever experienced to be present with you in this moment. Call this beauty into our soul. Allow it to fill you completely. Feel every part of your being filled with the grace of beauty. Allow it to wash over you. Feel yourself being bathed in its light. Absorb it into every part of your being. Breathe deeply in and out. Gather up the fullness of this experience. Feel beauty permeate each and every cell and open you up in ways that you never imagined. Feel it open your heart. Feel your soul expanding with possibility. Observe how every part of your being feels lighter as it opens to grace, beauty and possibility. Feel all your possibilities being drawn to you. Love. Peace. Happiness. Prosperity. Bliss. Linger in this energy for as long as you feel called to. Return to it as often as you can.

“Let the beauty you love be what you do” – Rumi

This year is about taking risks. I have lived a certain way of life for a certain time. I have done what I thought would bring me certainty and security. I am a Cancerian, change and I do not hold hands.

My life lesson is flow.

I have had to let go of certain things so that I could bring my self closer to my soul. The nine to five job. Friendships that no longer nurtured me. Material items that I was saving for the rainy day that never came. I have peeled back and simplified my life.

I have made space in my soul.

Space for truth
Space for new beginnings
Space for love
Space for freedom

When I looked deep within and asked my soul

“What is it that you are yearning for?”

It replied with:

Meaningful connections
Deeper intimacy with myself and others
To live closer to Mother Earth
The full expression of my creativity
To do what I love more often
Truth

So this year I am taking some risks to fulfil my true path. Giving up old ways and opening my arms to the unknown. This year I follow my heart.

Being True

Being True

“You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist” Friedrich Nietzsche

You are fluid, you change, you ebb and flow. Being true is about being in tune with your rhythm, your essence. What is true today may be different to what is true in six months time. Today your soul may lead you to the river, in six months your soul may call you to the mountaintop.

Being true is a journey, not a destination. It is an ongoing journey of listening to the story of your soul, page by page, chapter by chapter, as it unfolds in perfect time, in the perfect space for you. You will never get there. You are always moving, growing, flowing.

Being true is knowing that what is true for you, may or may not be true for others. Your dance may be the cha cha cha, their dance may be the tango. Your call may be to heal others, their call may be to make us laugh. Your soul may love the silence of the hills, their soul may love the hustle and bustle of the city.

Your life is continually unfolding. As you walk through your day let go of the reins a little, rather than controlling events or sticking to a plan that is falling apart or just plain stuck. Listen to what beckons you, then follow its call.

Trust and believe in yourself, your true self.

The simple things

I am sitting here listening to the call of a magpie in the distance. As I look out the window I see a bright yellow flower with its head turned my way. I feel like she has pushed through the heavy soil on this misty morning just for me.

The simple things warm my soul. Soothe my weary bones. There was a time when I didn’t savour them. Didn’t notice them, a decade or two ago. I was wrapped up in the world of others or in the chaos within my mind. It was when I turned inwards, when I found beauty inside, that the simple things showed their truth.

When we are disconnected from ourselves we are disconnected from what is outside of us. Our hearts are not open to receive the simple beauty that exists in the everyday. When we are disconnected from ourselves we don’t notice the sunlight streaming through the window or the north wind blowing the wispy branches of the maple tree. We forget the art of reading the clouds, miss the rainbow in the drop of dew on the grass or the call of the magpie in the distance. Our minds are on other tasks, other things, lists of things to do, people to please, flaws to correct. Always searching for what is missing. What is missing is usually simpler than we think. It is connection. When we notice the beauty that surrounds us in the simple things then we are reflecting the beauty that resides bone deep within our walls.

These are some of my simple things:

The sound of raindrops on my roof

A perfectly boiled gooey egg

Holding hands with my daughter

Home made pumpkin soup with crusty bread

A basket full of seashells collected on our favourite beach

Crisp clean sheets on my bed

Soaking my skin under a hot shower

Hot buttered toast

Blueberry Jam on Scones

Walking barefoot in the sand

Wandering around the local farmers market

Picking fresh tomatoes straight from the vine

Watching my vegies grow from seed to fruit

A hand made scarf to wrap around my shoulders

A fallen feather on the ground

A cup of freshly brewed chai

The first hint of morning light through open curtains

What are your simple things? I would love to know!

Take time this week to notice the simple things around you that nourish and feed your soul. Reconnect to the simple things that ignite your truest self.

Hello 2013

IMG_6725

So it is today that I return to my blog, the first one for 2013. This blog, this year, will be about how I and you can move to the rhythm of your true self. It has always been about being true, and this year I wish to deepen that. So I will post weekly, sometimes more, sometimes less, when it feels right that there is something to share. Sometimes time is not always on my side, however I have learnt throughout the years, to lean into the flow. A hurried life is a life where the presence of mystery is missed. If I hurry my blog, then the essence of which I wish to share will be lost. I wish it to unfold, with heart and soul. I am a writer, a teacher, a counsellor, an intuitive, an artist, a friend, a sister, a daughter, a niece and a mother. These are my roles at various times, each requires a piece of my time in the daily landscape of my life. I cherish each role. I also cherish me. For without a sense of me, I am lost, there is no sense of home. So within the daily landscape of life, I allow time to simply be me. Time to move to the rhythm of my true self.

  1. Dance around the Christmas Tree
  2. Simplify my daily routine
  3. Drink old fashioned Egg Nog the way my Grandmother use to make it
  4. Blow a kiss to the clouds, in memory of the ones I love the most, whose presence will be missed on Christmas Day
  5. Swim the depths of the Pacific Ocean
  6. Go on a road trip where the Jacarandas bloom
  7. Take time to connect with the place in my heart
  8. Bake bread, then sit on a patchwork rug by the lake and share it with my little girl as we watch the boats sail on by
  9. Curl up somewhere cosy and read a good book
  10. Cuddle my little Bumble Bee

Where do you go when you want to slip away from the everyday?

Where do you go when you need shelter from the constant searching?

Where do you go when you need reminding of where you belong?

Sometimes I need time for myself. To reconnect to the meaning of my life. To touch the sacred presence that resides within my walls. To sit alone with my story and hear the whispers of my deepest longings. To find this time is not an easy task. On my shoulders I carry the demands of the day, the responsibilities of keeping a home, the commitment of raising a child and quite often an exhaustion that sits bone deep.

Yet this time is essential to my wellbeing and it is when I return to the earth that I am able to let go of all the places within me where I have been searching, pushing and holding on. I take my body to the earth and allow her to hold me. I sit upon her shoulders and silently breathe in the landscape before me. Sometimes the ocean, sometimes the mountains, sometimes the lake.

It is here in her healing energy the heaviness of the world falls away. I am able to lean into the space within my soul. Her arms gently caress me as I soak in her beauty. The crisp, bitter air of the mountains pressing against my cheeks. I breathe it in, slowly, deeply, with purpose. I bring the experience of the outside into my heart.

I sit on the earth in the pink light of the evening sun, drops of moisture drift through the air. I allow the voice that I deny when time is not on my side to move through me and make known the next chapter that is to unfold in the story of my life. Opening the doorway to my deepest place, remembering what I might have forgotten.

We all need a healing place within the arms of Mother Earth. Let the beauty of nature feed your soul. Go outside, rejuvenate. Find a healing place of your own. It is here that you can come back to your centre. Your home.

What matters the most

What matters the most is how you live and what you have learned. When you stand before me, I want to feel your vulnerability. When your eyes meet mine, I want to see someone who can fully be with themself. When you touch my hand, I want to know your pain and how it made you strong.  When you speak to me, I want to hear raw heart and emotion.

What matters the most is how you walk to the rhythm of your own song. When you ache, I want to feel how your heart moves you. When you sing, I want to see the spirit of life pulsating through you. When you cry, I want to know you trust what your tears tell you. When you laugh, I want to hear the hum of your soul.

What matters the most is how you embrace yourself. When you want to hide, you sit with your pain. When you want to run, you reach into the depths of your soul. When you want to roar, you step out from the shadows. When you want to fly, you jump into the wind.

What matters the most is that you tell the truth. That you allow others to see you without all the layers on. That you acknowledge you are both darkness and light. . That you listen to the voice deep within your walls. That the words you speak honour the integrity of your soul.

What matters the most is that you live with compassion. That you share the food you eat. That you reach out to those navigating through the darkness. That you notice the beauty in everyone. That you allow it to be, till the time is right

What matters the most is that you are true to you.
